Surrounded by the Chianti countryside, southeast of Florence, these holiday homes in Tuscany were originally built in the 18th century as a hermitage and place of prayer. This beautiful stone holiday farmhouse and other proprieties were later bought by Baron Sonnino and converted into the Casolari farmstead. Bought by the present owner in 1975 the buildings were restored into a villa, a cozy self-catering apartment below the villa and a lovely barn that is an independent house from the villa. Each accommodation has its own private entrance and terrace. The whole structure can comfortably accommodate 13 people and a small swimming pool (8x5m, open May-Sept) with a wonderful view is also available. The farmhouse is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and a private lawn, in perfect isolation far from the madding crowd, and from the terraces one can also enjoy a breathtaking view over the Arno valley and the famous forest of Vallombrosa. These accommodations in Chianti are in a perfect position for visiting the famous art centres of Florence (30 km), Arezzo (60km), Siena and Pisa.
